2nd try.. This time my button quail are hatching... Ya..

It also depends on how old the eggs are. I can't remember the exact numbers, but I do know that the older the egg is, the more time it needs. This last batch I did was in a forced-air hovabator, and it went fairly easily. I think the ones I got from Tori were all done in a still air LG, and I had 1 or 2 hatch the first day, the majority hatch the second day, and 2 or 3 hatch the 3rd day. I waited 2 days after that, and opened the eggs. Most of the others either weren't developed or had died late in development.

I got the tuxedo buttons from a breeder in Washington State.. He only has one pair.. Male and female together.. And he recieved them as adults from a breeder in an unknown state that kept them in a colony.. And wanted out of buttons.. So he had them shipped to him.. He has owned the pair for less than a year.. Dont know exactly how long.. Maybe even less than 7 months.. They are of unknown age, I do believe..

The guy sent me 6 tuxedo eggs, so that made them 7-9 days old when I got them. Well the oldest eggs any way. I have had 2 hatch so far around 6:30 or 7:00 tonight.. I hear it peeping in the kitchen right now. One I think is tuxedo, the other I believe is white. He also sent me some Ivory, smokey, and pied eggs, 18 total.. But nothing else has hatched yet.. And my egg from my buttons hasnt finished hatching either..

I dont know if I should post the guys website.. So PM or email me and I will tell you who I got them from.. He is going to be setting some of the eggs for himself soon.. So I dont know how many will be available in the near future..

I already have some potential tuxedo eggs coming but if they don't turn out well I'll keep it mind.

Yesterday I had 3 hatch.. Woke up this morning and 1 more was hatched.. And noticed 2 pips.. Ya more buttons.. I am so exited..

Going to go watch it hatch..

Camera is still charging and I think I will wait till the hatch finishes to post pictures..

Update:

I have a total of 12 babies.. 3 from my eggs..

Out of 18 shipped eggs.. I have 9 baby buttons, one still needs to be fluffed up still.. It is a bit bloody though.. And I have 2 pips..

Is this good for shipped eggs?? I was expecting a way smaller hatch from all the storys I have heard about shipped eggs..

But 2 of the babies have a hard time standing up.. Well actually walking.. And one likes to walk in circles.. Do you think I am going to have to cull it..
