Just brought home 13 chicks from TSC. The guy selling them was ADAMANT about using the powdered antibiotic. I hate medicating the chicks, but I plan to sell the eggs and I don't want trouble.

We're adding 1Tsp/Gallon. Is that right?

We didn't medicate our first set of chickens last spring and they are just fine. We did medicate our meaties. Same ratio of antibiotic to water for 14 days. They were very healthy birds.

i believe you have the right ratio but its your choice not many people med their birds as he suggests. if you plan to sell its a plus! before you sell you'll have your birds checked anyways or should NPIP certified
