a solid sawn grade 2x4 in the us is 1.5 x 3.5" (19x38mm) with a 0.125" radius on the edges.

2x6 1.5x5.5
2x8 1.5x7.25
2x10 1.5x9.25
2x12 1.5x11.25

I have both 2x2 roosts that i have added addtional round over to the edges and i have also used straight 2" limbs as roosts

WELCOME ABOARD. using a 2x4 for a roost is good. You could also lay it on it's side the chickens will appreciate.
