3 1/2 week old Black Copper Maran gender..

Any ideas about gender, or is it too early to tell? We're hoping that Sophie (or Pierre if need be) is going to be a hen. Sophie was sick for 5-6 days, so is a bit smaller than I thought she should be for her age. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Looks like a roo to me.

Is there coloring coming in on the wings?

Roo. Mine are 5 weeks and all 3 of my roos started just like that at that age. I'll keep my giners crossed for you just in case!

Mostly black with a couple large white wing feathers. No brown feathers at all.

Yea, I did notice some roo characteristics. Larger comb, white feet, lots of white down. But I've still seen some hen qualities too, if what they say is accurate. Tail feathers, no brown feathers, white on her head, shy when playing fighting with other chicks. But I'm sure none of those guarantee the sex of Sophie/Pierre. Maybe too early to tell..?​

Hi there! Did it end up Pierre or Sophie? I have two BCM chicks and I think two and half weeks is too young for me to tell the sex?
