My run is 3/4 covered with tarp, totally covered with shade cloth. We get the occassional shower while I'm at work. The crew HAD to move permanently outside this morning as they were too big and stinky on our back porch. Do you think they'll be ok if it rains? It's only one end...probably less than 1/4, that isn't covered with a tarp. Highs are in the upper 80s during the day and 70 at night. I have a dog crate for the turkeys/chickens at night and the ducks are in a playhouse.
The ducks are incredibly happy. They have a shallow (3 inch pan) with a hose going in it on a slow drip. Enough to get in and splash but even if a turkey wanders over they can get out.

I live in Florida too. My birds love the rain. Their run is covered so they can get out of the rain but they seem to prefer to be out. When I put a sprinkler on in the summer they run from the sprinkler but when it rains they don't want to get out of the rain and we have had a lot of rain lately. Go figure.
