Cool, I hope he's nice enough... maybe if he gives them to ya you'd be able to give them to people on here who are thinking about making one.

I got the plans - it's a PDF file. If you know of a way I can share the file here I'd be happy to!

Do you have a google account? I think you should be able to upload that to Google Docs, make it public and just share the link.

If you don't have google, PM me and I'll give you my email address, I'll see if I can do it.

I keep getting distracted from this project. I built most of my broiler A-frame today I need 4 more 2x4x12 before it is finished. I checked harbor freight but it actually cheaper by 20-30$ to buy online and you get a better product most of the time. I have been debating when to bite the bullet and order the fingers and the motor and drive shaft they really are the biggest expense of the project. I think I am slated to purchase the pillow bushings next. nothing like building in stages. Btw after review of the chicken washer it's the same setup as the wizbang as far as price sadly.

I can imagine... with that much horsepower and the light load!

i drop my birds in then turn it on as opposed to tossing them in while its already spinning. due to that the startup load is quite large. I did 3 large breed roos once and they started off VERY slow, fighting belt slippage.

but that is an issue with such small pulleys on the driveing pulley. there are some fancy math equations you can use to determine belt geometry around pulleys, which tell you how many inches of belt contact you need for given torque values.

FYI the 3 phase was scrapped wiring it would have been a fire hazzard for me I only deal with low voltage electronics so phase theory is just not in my head.

Sweet!
