3.5 week Lavender Orpington and Black Copper Maran

Can anyone help with these two 3.5 week chicks? They hatched around 19 March and I am hoping for pullets.. TIA

I believe it's a little on the early side. Best to wait until 5 weeks at least. I hope they are pullets! There is always the chance someone with a more trained eye can tell though.

Agree, too early to tell, though with single combed breeds you should know by 6 weeks. May be a bit later for the Orpington.

Agreed. Much too early. And holding them like that makes it harder to sex. Let them stand naturally.

They’re still pretty young, but from the way they’re standing I’d say you potentially have two pullets.
