Ok I have these 3 birds, there is something wrong with all of them. There has been something wrong with them for a long time, I think it is time I asked about it. Here is the first bird, my Muscovy duck.

This is not really I massive problem, I don't think so at least, but why is there foam by his eye? It is not always there and when it appears it disappears within an hour. I have other Muscovies and this also sometimes happens to my other drake but never happens to my 5 hens. I also have Rouens and Pekin ducks, it never happens to them either, why does it happen to this guy and what is it?

Second bird- This is way more serious... So in late March last year I got 8 chickens from Tractor supply, 4 White Leghorns and 4 Red Sexlinks. One of the White leghorns had poop on its butt and was much smaller than the others when it reached week 1. I cleaned off the poop and it kept its butt clean after that but stopped growing. By the time they hit the 3 week mark this chick was still the size of a 4 or 5 day old chick. She stayed with the others and ate and drank normally. By the time the other hens started to lay she was starting to grow and was nearing full size but still had no development of her comb. A few months later her comb started to grow, I thought everything would turn out normal and she would start to lay but I was wrong... Her comb stopped growing, she then got all bloated and started pooping out blood and white slime like she had an egg pop inside her or something. This went on for over a week! I separated her from the main flock and eventually it stopped bleeding. Fast forward a month and it happens again, still the comb has developed no further, this time it lasted for a little under a week. This kept happening for a while every month but then it stopped, her comb finished growing in and I thought she would now become a normal hen but again I was wrong. It happened again a few months back and has not happened since, the hen has grown spurs and has a paler face than my other birds. Her bottom is starting to swell up and I think it might happen again! What the heck is going on, how do I stop this? btw she has never laid an egg.

Third and probably weirdest bird... Ron, is a RIR rooster that I hatched last June, he was normal at first but around the 4 or 5 week mark something happened, he had what I thought was a stroke, he acted like he was paralyzed. I thought he was going to die but he slowly recovered after about a week. He never fully recovered though. His vision is messed up, he is always bobbing and twisting his head to get a better look at things. He would try to fly but he did not know where the ground was once he took off and found out by smashing into it and knocking the wind out of himself. He could not fly up to the perch, he could not fight, he would always miss his kicks and dodge into the attacks. Since then he has improved more, he can get up to a perch but still can not fly. Now he just runs and flaps his wings, I would always laugh at him when I saw him doing this its like he thinks he is flying, but he can actually go really fast, he can outrun me and my brother and our younger dogs, and I am not a very slow person, neither are my dogs. Along with this he has improved his fighting skills. He still bobs his head like a dummy though. Also, he sits and stands like a sick hen would but definitely does not show any other signs of illness. I noticed that the joints in his toes have gotten very jagged... Along with that his ankle joint has a bony growth coming out of it. We call him 4 spurs because his ankle growths are as long as his tiny spurs and it appears as if he has 2 sets of spurs. I picked him up today to get a better look at him and found something out that is kinda scary, he seems to be built out of muscle he flapped and scratched when I held him and his strength is comparable to my Muscovy drakes, he definitely has twice the strength of his father who is twice the size, but why? None of this could be caused by what I thought was a stroke, right?

The last two are pretty bad pictures, oops.

Your drakes could have eye infections. I would take antibiotic ointment (no pain killer) and put it right in the eye. For the others I have no idea. :(

Ok I will try, it will be hard to apply ointment to their eyes though, I will have to have someone help me hold them down.

Ron has a serious case of anemia. I would start by getting a fecal float test done. He may have Marek's disease. He may also have MS.

The white leg horn may be laying internally.

The muscovy may have a respiratory disease. Do you have plenty of water for your ducks to dunk their heads in?

What are you feeding your birds? Protein %, and mill date of feed? How are they being housed? How many birds, how big is their coop? Is there a run?

I would do a mite and lice check of all birds, including their housing.

Here's an article that may help you, but the scope of your issues with these birds is IMO beyond the skill of the typical BYC member, including myself.

What is a fecal float test, what is MS? I feed the chickens Dumor layer feed, I am not sure on all the % or date, I will check tomorrow. The ducks have plenty of water. I have a little over 20 chickens and then 13 ducks. The coop is over 100 square feet, I am not sure about exact measurements. I do not think Ron has Marek's, he has been like this for months, shouldn't it have spread or killed him by now? They have a run that is over 350 square feet and has a roof. I will check out that article now, thanks @lazy gardener

btw none of the other birds have these problems, they are laying normal eggs and acting normal.

Marek's doesn't always kill the bird. I'm also a bit suspicious of Marek's in Ron. Here's an FAQ if you want to read more: https://www.backyardchickens.com/articles/the-great-big-giant-mareks-disease-faq.66077/

A fecal float test is a sample of your flock's fecal material, which is then "floated" in a solution then looked at under microscope by a skilled technician (usually a veterinarian) to check for parasites.

A previous poster is correct; these are some serious problems and probably beyond the scope of what we can help with via internet forum. If you don't have a vet that will see poultry, you might consider contacting your state's Agriculture department, especially since they have a poultry division it looks like (?). It's worth contacting them as they may offer free or low cost testing services for you to help answer your questions and might be able to better help you. https://datcp.wi.gov/Pages/Homepage.aspx
