DeSoto Mo
The last 2 times Ive filled the feeder ( today was the second time ) I noticed mice droppings in the bottom of the feeder barrel, Havent happened in the 4 years Ive had chickens but I guess the mice finally found a source of food. I added Cayan Pepper to the feed last month and Bought a big bottle today and went heavier with it as I filled it since there was still mice droppings in the feeder. Not sure if I have mice from Mexico or what as the last feed was pretty spicy? A little Spicier this go ( and mixing it I got a nice whiff of cayan in my sinuses LOL )
If this doesnt help Im going to add some seasonings next go , either Italian or Oregano... Might be a Mafia Mouse Gang or something ??

I use a combination of these for rodent control.

I have read you can also mix in some sodium bicarbonate with some chicken feed or crumbles, in a separate dish above the feeder.

Allegedly, mice and rats cannot fart, so the carbon dioxide produced makes them swell up and die. Poisonless way to kill them, which is also safe for the chickens to ultimately eat them.

I am yet to try this.

Ive done this with other stuff like jelly for ants too... not sure if it actually works or not? I think the squirrels get to it first?
