3 chicks dead from ants :(

This could definitely still be a case of coccidiosis. My thoughts are that the chicks were sick, and not moving around enough to keep themselves from being consumed by ants.

Also, is it possible for 5 week old chicks to freeze to death? My electricity was out yesterday D:

Are the ants getting on them overnight? Are you brooding outside?

If it is just ants, spraying their area with permethrin 10 spray should do the trick. With ants though, you need to be super vigilant, they are very resilient

Yes the brooder is outside my house. Now I gotta move the brooder somewhere else, there's lots of ants around it . I hope he didn't freeze to death though, electricity here in my area is really bad.

Still, I should've paid more attention. Last time I checked them was about 11 pm. They were still doing alright

What are your nighttime temperatures?

Probably 25-28 °C

Google says that's around 80F, so for 5 week old chicks that's plenty warm, even without supplemental heat.

Hopefully some of our chicken experts will read through and can give you some better advice!
