I'm new to chicks. I ordered from Meyers and I have had them since Tuesday. All of the sudden today I noticed...One yellow buff orp chick has a patch of hair missing on the side of her neck. It's hard to describe but the feathers seem thin and a bit hardened with a green tinge. The skin is pinkish-red. I fished around the rest of her body but there's nothing like it anywhere else...or on any other chicks. I am trying to get a good picture but this is difficult without an extra hand. Otherwise this chick is eating and I haven't seen her getting pecked by the other 7.
Thoughts?
Here is a picture...I had to smooth back some fluffier feathers with water to get a good shot so that's why the top feathers look slicked and wet. But you can see the patch and perhaps see that the roots of the feathers have a green tinge
