3 day old chick with distened abdomon

We just got some chicks from a hatchery and 1 chick all of the suddenseems to have trouble walking. We picked her up and she has a huge belly hanging down. It looks as if something is hanging out of it (umbilical cord remnants) we dont know what. She is eating and drinking and hoppin all over (on one leg mostly). Does anyone know what this could be?

I have no idea what you are dealing with butyou need to seperate if at all possible. Make it comfortable. If you just got them from a shipment you should add some sugar to the water, this gives them an extra boost of energy needed especially after shipment. Try giving some poly-vi-sol(a vitamin for infants). Maybe it needs some more time to work out the kinks per say after hatching. If it is eating and drinking that is good.

I have given the Quik Chick and added sugar to the water. She seems to eat and drink plenty. Poor thing, I guess we will just have to watch her for a few days to see if it starts going away. It sure looks gross though. I wish some knew what it was.
