Hi,
I’m new to posting here. This topic is probably covered elsewhere but I’m having issues matching up other threads with “exactly” my situation. I appreciate any input:
Just received an order of chicks in mail today (first time mail-ordering). All appeared happy and healthy except for this poor little one that was being trampled by all the others. From what I can tell, it has sprawling leg syndrome?? Can someone confirm that? The pics I’m seeing online show legs spread outward, but this guy seems to draw its legs upwards. In fact it’s wings get caught in its toes when it tries to move (see pic).
It drinks water when I dip it’s beak in water, but doesn’t seem to drink on its own and isn’t interested in food. It gets stressed when I separate it from the others, so currently it’s in its own little raised container near heat lamp in brooder so it can be near the others.
I work full time, so I’m trying to figure if and how I can help/rehabilitate this little guy. Any helpful advice out there?? Thanks!
Also I have a video of the chick moving, it kind of uses its wings to waddle backward on its belly, but the forum doesn't seem to support videos.
