To. E honest I don't know how warm it is at all. The picture is my setup and I wasn't really ready for this as my chickens rejected the chicksHow warm? Sometimes those can make it too warm. I generally use a 125 watt bulb myself unless it's cooler out.
Occasionally I will make a circle with hardware cloth and put it around the troublemaker. I let them out every hour for a while. Sometimes I need to add food and water and keep it in there for a day or two.
I also always add some glass stones for the first week to give them something to peck at. I put them in the feeder and scatter them about the brooder floor along with some chick starter.
