They arrived yesterday afternoon, after much pacing and stressing out on my part. They are just the cutest little balls of fluff I've ever seen :D
I have no idea what to name them!!

I always wait to name mine till 1) I decide I'm keeping them and 2) their personality comes out.

I currently have: Hopper, Penguin, Owl, Val(kyrie) and Cinnamon. I've only named 4 of the 35 that I have--but I'm only keeping 15...

Hopper is based on the fact that every time I put my hand in the pen, she hops onto it and she likes to sit on my hand, arm, shoulder, etc. When I put them in their new pen, she attempted to fly out and land on my head.

Penguin and Owl are named because they look like those birds.

Cinnamon is gray with a splash of cinnamon brown on her face and head.

And Val is my explorer. She's always tryign to leave her pen and explore the world around her. She's brave--hence, a "Valkyrie". :)

More names are coming, as we decide which we're keeping.

(Some of them have names like "Alfredo" and "Stew" and "Friar" and so forth because we *know* their fate...) ;)

Annmarie, they're going to be white cochins, I'm not a giant fan of white birds, but that's all the hatchery had...and I really really wanted cochins! lol

Our orphingtons are poop chicken and popcorn chicken.

The flock I lost to URD were Char Sui, Backened, Broiler, Parmesan and Marsala.

No idea what I'm going to name these babies yet though :)

AW, they are so cute! They made me giggle out loud! I cannot wait to get my chicks - they ship on the 9th from MPC.
What are you getting from MPC :) I was so excited [and impatient] waiting for my babies to get here.

I am getting 3 Buff Orpingtons, 1 Barred Plymouth Rock, and 1 White Plymouth Rock. I cannot wait! Has anyone else been this impatient?
I still have a week, and I set up the brooder today. lol

I set up early too! I couldn't help myself. I was just too excited about my babies getting here.

I also have 2 buff orphingtons, I've hand raised them and they are just the friendliest chickens. Poop chicken is so vocal! She will chirp and chirp getting increasingly louder until you pay attention to her, usually it's because their water dish is full of bedding or they know it's time to go outside.

I'm waiting for my new coop to get here so they can move outside and start learning to be real chickens [right now they're house hens lol!] It arrived today but it was missing a bunch of the pieces so I wasn't about to put it all the way together! I was really disappointed because I am tired of cleaning their tub every morning [they have big, huge, mushy chicken poops now instead of ones that you can just pick out]

I'm also babysitting my friends two buff orphingtons [all sisters] and there's 4 of them in one little 15 gallon tub at night [poor babies]
