Hello to all!

My female laid 5 more eggs which we got right into the incubator Monday evening.
I’m a novice and was wondering if anyone can tell if any are fertilized yet?
I’m a worrier! One egg, the one with the video has a yolk that moves. I feel like this might be a bad sign. 😢
If anyone can tell from my photos I’d greatly appreciate your help.

Very kindly,
Amy

Can someone be kind enough to help me???

Hi. I've only hatched chickens and new to that. I can't tell you if these eggs are developing yet. I think you have to be quite experienced to tell at 3 days. They again at 7 days, veins should be quite visible then. Good luck.

If these are her first eggs she has laid they might not be fertilized. Most people wait a few months to hatch from a new layer because those first eggs their body is working the quirks of egg laying out which can result in eggs that are less than ideal for incubating. I see nothing currently, but since they are already in the incubator wait until tomorrow or the next day then check again. Usually if I see any development it's not until the very end of day 3 and sometimes it's not until day 4. Depending on your incubator and how well it's holding temperature can also delay being able to see development an extra day or two.

Thank you so much Meg! I’m a worrier and this is only the second time I’ve incubated duck eggs. The first batch were Wood Ducks who’s mother was killed by a fox at 13 days old. So I’ve never started from day one. The wood ducks did great, we only lost one out of five. I just am going to have to wait it out I guess. 😊

I agree with the above, needs a few more days to be sure! As long as the air sac isnt moving they should be fine
Thank you very much! They definitely look different then from day one when I saw nothing when I candled them.
Hoping for the best, but the mother is young and these were her first eggs, which I guess isn’t good. We didn’t even think she’d have a clutch in January, but we are still hopeful.

Hi!
Ohh, I wasn’t aware of that. Thank you very much for the information. She’s only 9 months old and this was her first clutch. We had 2 males and 2 females, but sadly a hawk got to our other female over the summer. It was heartbreaking. Now both males are all over her all the time. We feel so bad that they won’t leave her alone and have thought about separating them, but we are afraid she’d be lonely.
We didn’t think that she’d do any laying in the middle of winter either. But we are still hoping that just maybe they will be fertilized. One question, is it either all the eggs are either fertilized or not fertilized? Or can some be fertilized while others not be?
I greatly appreciate any advice!!
Blessings. 🤗
