3 days old chicks with one closed eye?

Hey all! I have two white leghorn chicks that are keeping their left eyes closed.

I thought maybe they got stuck shut by goop or something, so I wetted a piece of toilet paper with warm water and gently swept it across the eye. They did open them.

None of the other 13 seem to be affected, but I just want to make sure we don't have some funky disease starting.

I'd keep trying the warm compress a few times a day and wait and see.
Hopefully someone with more knowledge will pop in.

you need to put some terrymycin or tobramycin in there eyes (anything that is totally opthalmalic should be fine

do that once a day and see what happens keep us posted and let us know what happens

How old are your chicks? What kind of bedding are they on? How many chicks? What size area are they all in?
