3 HEALTHY BABIES from DDD eggs LAST POST 1/6/08

My eggs from DDD arrived today!

They are currently resting and I will put them in the bator Sun or Monday.

Lisa did a fabulous job packing and sent extras!!! I can't wait to see what they look like when they hatch!

This is my first hatch!

Can I ask why you're waiting that long to set them? I wouldn't wait that long to put them in. I always put them in late on the day that I get them. Shipped eggs have enough strikes against them without adding another couple of days of sitting around to them.

I have always read/heard 12-24 hours to let them "rest".

I never let them sit that long and have good hatches most of the time from the shipped eggs I get. I'd put them in tonight if I were you.

Hi Amy! I'm so glad to hear they made it. I was beginning to wonder if the PO had misplaced them.
6 hours rest has always been plenty of time here. They are fresh enough that another day shouldn't be harmful if it's just more convenient to wait til tomorrow to set them.
Think about it this way --- they aren't getting any fresher and the sooner set, the sooner you'll have chicks hatching.
