Thanks. They came from an old coworker who has raised half of them from chicks and hatched the others. I felt bad as she was crying when handing them off to me

It's really difficult giving up your flock. Any chance she will be able to keep birds in the future ? At least she knows they have gone to a good home.

They all look so happy!
It’s very difficult to give up a flock. I had to rehome 3 accidental cockerels, 4 hens, & 7 pullets and I cried when I left them at my friend’s house. It was one of the saddest days of my life Thankfully my friend who took in my 4 Light Brahma hens lives close by and I will be visiting her in March to see my chicken children.

No her and her husband are physically unable to build an enclosure to keep them safe from hawk attacks. This is why she got rid of them. They lost two roosters and a few hens to hawks in the last year. But she’s happy they’re together she was going to send them all to agway where they’d have no idea what would happen to them. I told her they can come out to dinner in better weather and visit them
