3 hens flew the coop (Help)

Well we found here sitting at the edge of the water line on a log. Out back we have alot of swamp area. She was very happy on the log, I had some bread and tried to get her attention, she just looked at me! so I looked around to see if I could find her nest. No luck about 2 hours later she was still siting there drinking water.

So do I wait until she wants to come back.....what's a mother to do (haha).........

I have found that a fishing net with a long pole can be helpful in these situations.

This is driving me nuts! It's almost 6PM and she is still in the same place, just standing on the log. I thought maybe she couldn't get off so I placed a bigger log beside her......nothing I will check again before it gets dark. Maybe I can see where she goes. She seems to be very
skittish.......

Hmmmm...her mysterious ways! She may have a stash of eggs somewhere but if so, I would think she'd be with them and not on the log......
What is the most enticing treat in the universe?

I was thinking the same thing, Is there anything out there that hens love eating.I tried feed and rolls (seeded) nothing not a move. She must be full from all the bugs out there...........I had so many ticks on me when I came out of the woods.

Let's see - they're all unique of course, which complicates things plenty, but I've found fav treats to be sunflower seeds, fruits cut in little pieces (they love blueberry, cherry, and some like grape, melon, other berries...), little bits of grain bread soaked in olive oil, ....

I can usually get a feathered friend to follow me anywhere if I shake a little container that has sunflower seed, after showing them what's in it and offering a tempting taste....

Hello all great news Gypsy Rose is back, i went down to the water line and she followed me back. So she is with all the girls now I'm trying to get her in coop. I think this could be the night. So she and I can get a good nights sleep. Thank you every one for your advice let's keep our fingers crossed............that she goes in coop when it get's dark..........

Doing the happy dance, she went in own her own with the others, I just checked and she was sleeping on the perch! So happy for this web site I was a basket case.we will all sleep good tonight...........
