I have 3 hens that hatched 15 chicks (4 died, 11 left) at the same time and they were in adjacent nests. Now the 3 hens are always together with the chicks. The chicks go to whichever hen is calling for food or closest. They do everything together. I'm thinking of separating 2 hens from the chicks so that the hens can get back at laying quickly. Should I do that or let nature do its thing.
Btw, the chicks are 1 week old.

You can do it either way, it will not affect them long term. Personally I'd break two so they will get back to laying, but that's just because I'd want the eggs.

Congratulations on being successful with multiple broody hens. Sometimes that works out, sometimes it does not. And welcome to the forum.

Welcome to BYC!

Curious to see how this turns out.

I would leave them together

It will make an interesting integration. Probably much easier on all.

It will be an exciting experience for the watcher.

The chicks will not be neglected. Sister Wives! I would see how they do.

If it becomes troublesome to the health and well being of the hens or chicks then I would consider separation.

Good luck with your decision. Keep us posted
