I love this whole "rescue" battery hens movement.
Did you take any pictures of her feet before treatment?
If you have heartguard for dogs, 4-5 crumbles out of a 25lb dose tablet. this will kill mites and I would think maggots very quickly.
How do I find a place near me to rescue a hen?

I've never heard of this for chickens, does it kill worms too? I would hate to see the little bird go into shock if all the parasites are killed too quickly. Better to dust now and worm in a few weeks after she's got her strength back up.

Glad to hear she's feeling better, keep us updated!

I dont know about the Heart guard killing worms.
I just got my birds this year. When my chicks had mites, I had called an avian vet in the area, and they said she needed to be treated with invermectin (spelling). anyway, that is the same drug as in the Heart guard. I started with a few crumbles to see how that would do.

Murano: you are the chicken tech, so I will defer to you, but how could killing parasites too fast be a bad thing?
