3 mo. (ish) old SILKIES.. roo or hen?

Hello, I've been raising baby silkies. This morning at sunrise, I was surprised to hear one crowing. (I thought they were still a tad young) but ok! I could not figure out which one it was. As soon as I tried to peek it would stop. Anyways this is my first time raising silkies. I'd like to know which ones you think are roos and which ones are hens!

My guess would be the very first one pictured.

#1 is gonna be a roo, you can also check an easy way by looking at the ankles for spurs beginning to grow, only roos have em

I thought so too. I was thinking maybe the white one is a roo as well?

I don't feel any yet, but #1's legs are a lot thicker & bigger than the rest.

Yup I'm like 90%(cause it's just the head) sure it's a roo, looks exactly like our silky roos but red instead of white, c could also be a roo whith that much waddle but hard to tell, whith our two silky roos we thought one was female up to 7 months until he finally started crowing, and getting that turquoise color.

Hens can have spurs too, this is not a reliable way to tell the gender.

Quite true I have a female Welsummer with big spur like bumps. (No sharp nail yet)

@RoosterAreAwsome Huh I actually didn't know this, but I just looked it up! Thanks for the fun info. I have never had a hen or known someone who's hens have had spurs ●-● is it more prone to certain breeds? Either way spurs are most likely more common on roos than hens, and can at least be an indicator if not an actual reliable way to tell. Like checking a chicks wings (no clue how to do that!) Add that whith overall behavior, size and coloring, and you've got a pretty strong indicator depending on the bird. Unless you've got one like the silky we took for female for months -_- only outlier before the crowing started was the waddle color. That's him below a few months after reaching full rooster glory.
