3 of my 4 Pekin ducks were missing this morning. They were 6-7 weeks old. Pretty good size. Not a trace of anything... I scoured the area around the 1/2 acre pond.
No feathers or blood. Any ideas of what I am up against ??

Sounds like maybe coyote. i have been missing lots of my ducks and chickens and then I finally seen it in my yard one afternoon. They will carry it off and leave feathers along the way, but usually far away from where it picked them up. They usually come around at dusk and dawn. Good luck

Fox will do the same thing. Grab as many as they can and stockpile it for later eater. They WILL come back for the others!

Lone Survivor I call him/her UNO.
I lock UNO up in his duck house every night now.

I have 2 canadian geese that come into the pond almost every day to feed.. I put out corn for them.
They have been great company for UNO... Even taught him to venture out to the middle of the pond. Before, the 4 ducks would hover along the shore line...

Just before sundown the geese will start honking loudly for about 5 minutes then they will run and fly off to go to their home pond.
One evening I was watching and UNO ran as fast as he could trying to keep up with the geese, but when they took flight, all he could do is watch as they flew off. I felt sad for him.

I am planning to set up a critter cam to see what is "Visiting" in the night. I am going to put a clock in the area that will be photographed to see if I can predict a pattern of time. Then I will lay in wait and venilate whatever it is that got my other ducks
