I’m really new at this and I was told that I should buy several chicks of each breed to make sure I’ll get a chick but I felt I didn’t have that much room and now I seem to have made a mistake for not listening.... Yeah, I'm pretty sure. If you want to be 100% certain you can keep him for a little longer and see how he develops.

I wouldn't give up on the RIR just yet.

Keep the Barred Plymouth Rock if you can.

He has nice ringlets in contrast to the muddy barring on most hatchery stock and would be a good breeder roo if you have the facilities to raise baby chicks.
