3 Week Old Black Australorp

Hey yall!

Are both these babies cockerels? We are new to this breed, is that a lot of comb for the age? They are 3ish weeks old.

Im not experienced with the breed but I have lots of pullets who had combs like that at that age. My surprise cockerel was very red by that age and had significant waddles too. I wouldn't worry just yet.

They're too young to know gender for sure, but I'm thinking #1 is a male, and I'm not sure on #2 as of now.

Thanks for the reply! My son has been begging for a black Australorp for a long time, we are just praying that at least one will be a pullet.

Do you have any updated photos? By my experience with BA #1 looks boy and #2 , coloring is throwing me off lol but MAY be girl
