Well, it didn't take that long for my broody hen, Churkey, to get stir crazy from the brooder. Last time, I thought she stayed a little longer but she's insisting on taking her two chicks out into the world and into the big coop with the rest of the chickens.
Mama knows best, she's done this before, so I will defer to her. After two days, no issues, they sleep under her in a nest in the main coop and the other chickens (including our roo) and our cats are afraid to death to go near her when she has babies! She's always been the alpha animal on the property. She doesn't stray to far from the main coop with the babies, yet, thankfully.
These are 2 of the Buff Orps hatched from Jody's (hinkjc) lines. They are healthy, doing fine and love eating bugs!
