3 week old chicks don't like me, should I start over?

I have 2 Dark Brahma's that were also probably a week or more old when I got them. They are about 2 1/2-3 weeks old I guess now? One is so friendly she is annoying, and she loves to sit in my hand cuddled against me. The other one screams like a shower scene in a "B" horror movie everytime I pick her up. I just keep holding her and she settles down, until next time I try to catch her. They all come running for treats though, so I have hope!

My buff brahma boys were not into me holding them at all. As teenage roos, though I would hold them until they stopped struggling before letting them down.
My drk. brahma boys were never anti-people, not cuddly, but not totally friendly. I'm worried about the 3 wk. old BMC chicks I have in my brooder now- you'd a thunk I was chasing them with a cleaver every time I move near them!
My day old cochins though- LOVE to be held.

My Silkies which are supposed to be super friendly, seem kinda skittish to me- all except one roo. We had all layer breeds last year & though some were more shy than others, they all came around. You can never handle them too much, I think. Good luck!

Uhm. I don't want to sound mean or anything, but they're . . . chickens. If you want a bird that will cuddle you and bond to you and adore you, you really need a parrot. Even the tiniest parakeet will be about a hundred times more loving than any chicken, ever.

You'd really get rid of the chicks because they're not cuddly? Wow. My five hens are perfectly willing to be picked up, they tolerate being carried around the yard by my 3 year old, but I'd never classify them as cuddly and friendly. They have their chicken lives to lead, and that grasshopper in the grass is much more interesting than a human! But they give us eggs and the amusement of watching them drink out of puddles, chase flies, and take dust baths under the trampoline. Which is what they're meant to do, in nature, and that's much more fun to watch than to have them under my feet on the porch.

Good luck. I hope your chicks have happy lives.

Mine do this too. Even the ones Ive hatched. My younger chicks run away from the hand...silly birds.

My older chicks, approx 10 wks old, which we didnt et as day olds, come running to the fence everytime they hear me come outside. (I take them treats often=-). In fact, I was doing something along the fence, and my dh and kids were out. My dh said, "Why are all the chickens flocking to your mother". LOL
Some of them are friendlier then others and tolerate handling more then the others.

I was worried that our girls were always going to be spastic around me. They were maybe a week old when I got them. They do settle down when I pick them up and stroke their backs. Well at least most of them do. I have one who gets real obstinate with me and pecks at my hand sometimes like "How dare you try to touch me!" Hopefully it will all come to pass.
