3 week old chicks have colds????

i have two chicks one that sounds conjested..the other one acts like he has water in his throat...What could be wrong???

Chicks get respiratory illnesses.

There are many, many illnesses with these symptoms, unfortunately. It is very difficult to diagnose them with any accuracy.

Sometimes the chicks just get the sniffles from dust in the shavings or ammonia from too much poop.

The best policy is to separate any chicks that appear to be sick, make sure they stay warm, keep an eye on their poop for signs of disease, and make sure they are eating and drinking. Most often these things resolve themselves.

Another alternative is to take the chicks to the vet and get a culture done to determine if it is a disease and what treatment might work.
