My mallards are three weeks old, and one of them has started growing feathers. based off the coloring i assumed that she is female, but after some research it said that you can’t tell until they are older. I was wondering if anyone more experienced could help. My other mallard, who i got at the same time, has yet to grow any feathers. (sorry for the bad quality photos, she didn’t like to be held)

Correct, you can't tell by feather color. Males will look just like females until they get older and molt into nuptial plumage. Their voices will be the first thing you will be able to sex them by. Females have a loud, distinct quack. Males sound low and raspy.
