My "girls" are 3 weeks old and are in their coop with a light. It is in the 60's during the day and 40's at night. Is it safe to remove the light during the day? I have not seen them under the light in a week. Each time I check they are on the roost far from the light.

I was just coming here to post the same question! I will wait with you for the answer! Mine are almost 3 weeks and partially feathered.

Most of mine are 3-4 weeks, they are out in brooders in my big coop. Its getting over 80 degrees during the day lately and hot in the coop, so I have been turning their lamps off. Most of the time they are on the opposite side of the brooder than the lamp.

My 5-6 week olds are in a juvie pen and run with no light and doing fine so far.

Mine are just 4 weeks. I had turned mine off a few times this week when the temps got around 80'. One night I went out to close the windows and such, the light was still off and they were all crowded in the corner like they were trying to keep warm. I turned the lamp back on and they all started to get out of the corner. It seems as long as the temp is around 80' they are fine anything lower they crowd.
