HELP!

I was interested in raising guineas but wasn't sure which variety I prefered so I ordered an assortment of 30 keets from Murray McMurray Hatchery in Iowa. My little 5'x6' coop can only handle about half that number so I am looking for a good home for 15 to 20 keets.

The varieties are the hatchery's choice but they guarantee at least three different kinds from this group: Pearl, White, Lavender, Purple, Coral Blue, Buff, Buff Dundotte, Porcelain, Opaline, Slate, Chocolate, Powder Blue, and Brown.

My hope is to find one home that would be interested in splitting this order with me. The order is scheduled to arrive at my farm in Maryland between August 6th and August 9th and I would like to arrange to have them in their new home shortly after they arrive so they can begin their new life with their new owners. While the brooder I am settting will handle 30 guineas, I would prefer to only raise my permanent flock.

Hopefully somebody is out there that shares the same passion that I do about raising guinea fowl and desires their own flock of birds from a hatchery that has been supplying the small farmer, rural egg producer and backyard enthusiast with guniea fowl for over 95 years.

Thank you for your interested, I hope to hear from you!

sure wish I lived closer, I would help you out.
My first "colored" guineas came from McMurray and I have
been pleased with them. Since then hatched out way too
many keets but can't seem to stop. Sold alot of them and even
given some away....
do you plan on keeping them penned?
free range them? or both?
if I remember right, I also ordered 30 keets from them and lost
a few in shipment but got whites, coral blues, royal purples,
lavenders and buffs...once you get the cuties you may want to
hang onto them...

good luck and enjoy!

Thank you for the kind reply. My goal was to keep them in the coop until early winter and then allow them in a caged run that is attached to the coop. In the spring my plan is to slowly introduce them ouside of the coop and run and allow them to free-range during the day and return to the coop at night. While I'd love to keep all the survivors I really think it's more than I can handle but is thats what it comes down to I'll make it happen. I'll post pictures of them in a few weeks.

looking forward to hear about them and see pics when they arrive...
IF it was me, I would just make it work but you'll need to wait and see
once the 'little darlings' arrive......my problem is I can't enough of any
of my birds.....

looked at my profile yesterday and really need to update it....the numbers
are way too low for what I currently have on all my birds not to mention
those in the bator and hens setting of every breed.....

really think you will enjoy them and find it hard to decide who not to keep
if you still go that route...
