Mine are all on layer crumbles with oyster shell on the side. They also get sunflower seeds daily, right before bed. I'm assuming it's enough protein. Yes?

They aren't all red, yet, though. Wow, why didn't I get a production breed, again??

There should be a tag on the bag that lists the protein content of the crumbles. Sunflower seeds themselves are about 20 to 24% protein.

Glad we are all in the same henhouse!! I am coming up on close to 30 weeks with my girls and am eyeballing the nesting boxes like crazy. DH and I just put up a timer and light system so they are getting enough "daylight" since it is getting so dark so early.

My next step is to post a picture of fried chicken on the door...I might be able to scare the eggs out!!

Yes, they are 16% layer crumbles. I assumed all chicken layer feed is the same in protein content.
