31 day old eggs just started hatching.

Did you have a broody hen sitting on these eggs? That is a lot of eggs for one hen, she probably wasn't able to keep them all properly warm, if they were developing, they were either stunted and died or never started developing.

If this one just hatched, you may want to wait a couple more days before you toss the rest, your method is probably why there is such a difference in hatch time.

Is the chick still okay? It was looking a little sleepy.

I have had a total of 6 hatch and only two have survived, one hatched yesterday morning and is doing well, drinking and eating already and getting around good this is him in the pictures. I also just had another hatch about 3 hours ago and he is not moving much but alive. I probably had too many eggs under my broody and it has been pretty cold at night for them for the last 3 weeks. I have not had good luck with my first hatch and burying little chickens every day is not something I am enjoying so will probably be my last.

she probably did have too many, i know when i let my hens sit they let all the other hens come in and lay so diff. hatch times. give the babies some sugar water, it will perk them up. 2 teaspoons in a small cup of baby bottel temp water and dip the beaks in but watch the nose and give them time to swallow. if they start panting with mouth open just wait a min. but do this a few times. sorry for ur loss
