With short daylight days it will most likely be when the days get longer. I know some don't lay until around 9 months of age. As long as they are getting a good balanced diet they will when they're ready. I know it's frustrating but patience...

I would be sure they are getting enough protein. She most likely just hasn't matured.

What is the temp where you live?

We're in LA. Highs and lows are about 65 / 45.

Remember, it's not about temps, but length of daylight increasing to stimulate the pineal gland and the subsequent hormones release to stimulate ovulation.

I don't know very much about other foods for protein except scrambled eggs. I just check my feed bags. Maybe someone else will be able to chime in.

Well, hens won't lay if they have to focus on being warm.

Sometimes that first egg just takes forever. This time of year Buffs slow down their production, as do alot of breeds. What the books and Internet articles tell you is just an average.Hang in there - as the daylight gets longer, they will start laying.

No. No...stick with layer feed only.
