34 week old Golden comets and no eggs

mmm.... I'm no expert, so I'm not sure what's going on.... maybe they are all internal layers. (probably not though)

If you've kept them locked up, and you've really looked everywhere they could lay, then they're not laying. Are you sure they were laying regularly before?

Any luck yet? My chickens have been on strike for the last month or so. This morning one of them finally laid an egg she was praised (i know i know) and loved on for her good work. hopefully the rest will follow suit. I hope they start laying soon, I know how frusterating that is.

Still no eggs, I fenced off an area under their coop that I thought they may be laying in but I combed it out first and didn't find anything.

and so the plot thickens......... so its one thing to have no eggs but now I'm really baffled, I'm not sure what exactly is going on but one of the chickens has lost a bunch of feathers on the back of her neck!!!!They seem pretty friendly when I'm around so I don't know if they've been picking at each other or if she is catching her feathers trying to get under the coop.

I have cut back significantly on the food scraps and they seem to be eating a bit more of the crumble but I think their diet has changed significantly, I spoke to the lady I bought them from and she had a friend who has a thai resturant so they dined on thai food mostly so I'm guessing they have been a bit traumatised with my vegetarian and crumble diet!

I agree with the other posts. If they're not eating their chicken feed (which has protein and calcium in it, usually from things like blood and soy), they're probably not getting enough protein and calcium. In addition to their layer ration and additional free choice ground oyster/egg shell, I give mine blandly cooked meat, scambled eggs and dairy in the form of yogurt, cheese and raw milk. Just make sure to limit the amount of salt and oil that might be in people food leftovers, especially processed foods, sweet treats like fruit and corn, particularly citrus, and things with empty calories like white bread (nutritionally speaking it's about as bad as feeding them white sugar). Anything that's not good for us to eat too much of is not good for them, and keep in mind their bodies are a lot smaller than ours, so their limit is proportionately that much less.
