No, you need to get a pistol and kil it. The dog will come back, or if you hit it with a bb it might get mad and attack you. I don't advise a bb gun. I have tried using it on an aggressive dog and I got attacked.

I wouldn't do that. It didn't even touch her except for killing her, then just left her there. If it is one of my neighbors 2 dogs, I can narrow it down to a stray they took in a while back, he got some chickens last year, but not any others, and he absolutely adores me and is short and bluffy.

My mom wouldn't get that close. She wants to be able to stand on the porch and shoot a dog with it that's down in the yard. If you get too close with this gun, it'll stay in the dog. That's why it'd be perfect for her.

She's actually worth $200 dollars though, she's a rare breed and she is very special to me.

Ah. If your close to your neighbors make sure you tell them that your going to shot there dog if he is on your property again.

I'm afraid my neighbor would kill Barney, even if it wasn't his fault, if we told him that a dog got one of our chickens while they were around.

It might not have been him, but that would make sense because our dog is friends with Barney and she didn't bark much.
