Noticed my Jap/D'Uccle hen likes to lay or...just chill in the nest around 3pm every day. I've always heard they lay more so in the morning.
No idea if she has an egg song, never heard any. I hear the Roosters crowing[I've got 3 that crow, 2 outside, 1 inside. Total of 11 Roosters here], even know some chicken language! But no egg songs.
Anyone else have a hen that likes to lay in the evening? Only one or both mix hens are laying eggs right now, everyone else is not on egg laying time yet.

I rarely find any of my hens on the nests in the morning. They seem to like to lay from noon on, and it's not unusual to have them on the nests at 5pm. I don't know if that's winter thing or not. I have a light that comes on around 3:30pm in the coop and stays on several hours to keep egg production up. Maybe that has something to do with it.
