Adorable little ducks!, the girls are amazingly loud, though.

Agree. I had call x mallard. I could hear the girl a half mile away.

Thanks for the info. I'll do a deep cleaning of the hatcher after my 12/23 eggs hatch.

I read a humidity thread on here and I think I may have been drowning them w/too much humidity. It's around 70% in the hatcher so I dropped it down to 55% yesterday so we'll see if I get less dead in shells this time, but since this go round is only 5 eggs, it won't be a true test........But the NYD hatch, now that'll be a true test.

If you think your ducks are loud you should hear my four geese in action

They talk so loudly you could scream at the top of your voice with all your lung power and not be heard

What do your neighbors think of that?

I think heated mattress pads are about the best invention in the whole wide world! (except maybe the Equator, where they might not be appreciated so much).

I'm not aloud to have one, my DH is scared of them. He thinks the bed is going to catch fire or something.

I used to have one, I'd turn it on 1/2 hour before I went to bed and turn it off when I got in. I suggested that to him but oh no, still not happening.

So now I have oodles of kitties to warm the bed instead!

What do your neighbors think of that?

My "neighbors" steal my beloved tortoises out of their habitats and Literally have threatened to chop them into pieces and throw them back over the fence if I complain about it so I don't really care about their opinions to strongly

Take a look at the incubation link in my signature to see what I think about humidity. I always have it WAAAAAAAAAAAAY low until confinement. I don't even use a hygrometer, and I add no water until the end.

Confinement- there's another word for the glossary!! For those who hate the term 'lockdown.'
