This is getting close...was sitting outside watching the group today and my roo looks to be getting the business going...Now if they would start laying more regularly:fl:fl:fl , but combs are red or getting redder and temps have gotten nice here, so hopefully...Oh and bought eggs so that should do the trick

Good Luck! at the show!

I know that I can fit 20 chickens in my hatchback station wagon. I think we've all played that game.

I was in Casa Grande today. GORGEOUS weather. Wish my boys would start getting business done.... but I suppose if they were, they'd be crowing and I'd have to take them to get de crowed.

Was a gorgeous day for sure, and I just realized it's raining, can you believe it! I got this Phoenix roo from Noskiveez last spring and he barely crows, pathetic when he does try, but he has been courting the girls so....He almost had the Dominique today, she took off after him and was pretty funny. De-crowing might not be so bad for your's though

Hello all!

Gonna sit this one out. I just can't take the dander in the house for the months it would take before they could go out. Right now I am getting only one egg a day and have about twelve layers.

I haven't been on much since I had to start school again. I have been following Linda's big move and have been loving her pics.

We have had some predator problems here too. Lost a few chickens (mostly cockerels that I really wanted to keep, figures

) and one of the toms (of course it was the biggest one) Poor chickens and turkeys have to stay locked up most of the time. Been thinking of getting a trap so I can reduce the coyote population around here by a few. Luckily the neighbors won't complain about the shots since they do target practice in their back yards. (gotta love country life) Getting close to time to butcher one of the turkeys for Thanksgiving. They have gotten really big.

Gonna hatch vicariously through you all.

Sorry that you won't join us Dsqard. Sorry about your predator problems, too. It's so frustrating. I'm happy that the chicken they got was not one of my favorites, nor one that I wanted to breed. I was lucky in that sense.

Here I live by a pond, and there's always gunshots as it's duck season. Another shot isn't going to bother anyone around here.

Can't believe it's going to be almost 60 here today. I made pumpkin gingerbread yesterday and started working on Christmas presents.

Only 1 more week left to join the NYD Mutts and More Swap!

I'd be in if it weren't for that first snow on the ground thing the other day. I swore after this spring No More Chicks in the House. Especially for the winter. Plus I lost my breeding trio of bantam cochins to a weasel last week after the coop door was not secured by a well-meaning friend

. Can't wait to follow along, though.
