i'm having a sad sort of day. my friends had the nicest most beautiful araucana rooster with their flock and i was hoping to get eggs from his stock but i found out yesterday that they sold him. they now have a mean buff orpington running the coop but that does means pure BO chicks and maybe a few BO/RIR cross. i dont mind mutt chicks and i loved the way that rooster looked, i was hoping to hatch one just like him for myself.
ah well, i just wanted to complain. i'm still looking forward to setting eggs! i think about it every day!

for sure! I have another in "IB3" Iowa Blue batch 3.... 12/9 due date I think. These are due Tuesday. I know, 'due' isn't the usual term, but I like it! Good eye, too superchemicalgirl, and BTW every time I read your name I think of my daughter's multicolored hair! (which, I love, and am so supportive of that I've done the dye jobs most of the time for the last 4 years!)

that DOES brighten my day. just about anything chicken related makes me happy at this point. i'm looking forward to seeing some of those myself on new years.
