And then there were 9 eggs and I dropped one!

When I did my final candle today for lockdown I discarded another 6 eggs. So now it's 9 eggs set for lockdown!

When I was putting them in the bator, though I dropped one and it cracked a bit from the impact. Luckily it didn't bleed and I was able to wax it up without any trouble. I don't even think it broke the membrane! Of course it had to be my only remaining green egg of the bunch!

So now I have:

2 duck eggs
7 assorted chicken eggs that I didn't bother seeing what they were.

One of the duck eggs was really moving. I could see it's little beak in the light moving around! It was so magical and something I haven't seen in a while!!!

18 eggs locked down this morning. 8 more to lockdown in a few days as the eggs came in the mail late.

That makes 26 eggs out of 72 eggs.

I started with 33 eggs and I locked down 21 for sure good eggs (includes the 2 I cracked & waxed). As for the swap eggs, I still have 4, I think 1 is good and I'm still not 100% sure the other 3 are not good so no pitching 'em until the pipping & zipping is over.

My NYD lockdown eggs look AWESOME! 18 Kelar silkie eggs, they all look great. I pulled 1 clear Bargain Blue/Splash Marans egg but still have 10 that look good. I also have 3 of my own silkie eggs thrown in. I think that puts me at 31 of an original 40.

The eggs that I got after the NYD eggs aren't fairing so well. I had to pull the majority of lemon cuckoo orps, all my porc/lav silkies, and at least 1/2 of my dark brahma eggs.

Brent Danny39 His are so AWESOME! The first time I got eggs from him I got 6 and he sent 8 and all 8 made it to lockdown

His birds are just soooo pretty! I had some orps from Nellie Rockinpaints that were held hostage by the stupid postoffice for like a week

!!! She sent 24 and I have 17 going strong on day 13

! 5 lemon cuckoos 4 Lavs and the rest blues

I was so afraid they were done in but with

Nellie you always get quality

Karens silkies are just soo pretty too I bet they do good for you! I have someone coming over to get some of her silkies tomorrow

Here's what I've got. The dark brown egg I dont think ever did anything, but it's soo dark I can't tell for sure. Figure it wont hurt none to keep it in a few more days.
The least marked quail egg at the corner of the Taylor thermometer looks a little behind in developement so it may be late, but it's active and looks good otherwise. Time to go smash my face against the incubator window some more.
