i named a chicken!! i believe that name fits. he's awesome. if i could get a showgirl to always look like that i might try it, lol.

Three hatched. I was hoping for four out of the seven, but I think the fourth was questionable. My brooder lamps either don't work (they did earlier) or both the bulbs I have are toast.

Snowing tonight and the stores are closed. They're also 25 miles away, making it treacherous. I dusted off the hovabator (literally) and fired it up. They're in that.

What a difference two hours makes.... I have a pip and peeping!

(As predicted, a Salmon Faverolle egg...the one which at the last candling was bumping the membrane to the air cell with its head, so not really a surprise)

Hooray...

But Dang! I was hoping for a shot at the NYD apres midnight hatch. (I am, like, so counter "Open! Open! Open!"... More like "Whoa Nellie!") Nonetheless, it's a welcomed and eggciting event. Maybe will have a little stumbler in the bator tomorrow morning..... Which is even better than a good cup of coffee to start your day!
