Don't hide. It's hard to be my snarky, sarcastic self on here without coming off as rude. I'm new at this too.
So a warning to all of BYC: if you think I'm being mean, ever... I'm not. Now... if you asked my residents/interns or new hires the same question, you'd get a totally different answer. At work, I'm cutthroat.

Sorry to hear this... I've luck so far with the crazy fishing line strung up in a cats cradle over the run (it's too big to cover with a net). Took 2.5 rolls though...
Good luck.
Thank you. Good news. I was able to locate three live chicks under some sort of plow thing. Mamma Cochin was very happy to see them as was the rest of the flock or they thought I had food. I have heard of the fishing line technique but it would not work in my setup. Free ranging is were the problem is and they do that all day long. I have yet to lose an adult just the young ones. Oh well, they have to eat too.

Oh no it's not you, it just occured to me that maybe Bhep and tuthillny really didn't want to know. Doesn't matter really, it'll still be a surprise, they could look like anything!
ETA, well almost anything, no emus or naked necks.

Yep, I worked that philosophy into my chicken math. I had to increase my hatching 85% to accomodate for predator loss. That's how I explained it to DH anyway. You just never know!
I am soooooo relieved they got there in 1 piece. *whew*
Normally you get either white with black spots (yes, like a dalmatian!) or black with gold head and hackles and gold lacing. However there is an, ahem busy ahem, white silkie in there... do you let me know what the littles look like, please?
I did!! The day after you shipped them! I am thrilled with them. I've been wanting to add LF to my banty group for awhile now, so the large eggs are very welcome!
