Blue Marans or Blue Copper Marans. I think it is Blue Copper Marans.

Lotsapaint, you got a brown IB? I am soooo jealous. The brown chicks turn out such a nicer color.

Yep Blue Coppers and yes I know you said the brown ones were a better color...Maybe you should single mate to find the hens that produce the color that's what I have to do with the Marans helps me cull out the lighter egg producers......

Just had 6 out of 8 eggs hatch
Most are black color with a little white one is a spalsh color
1 other eggs was still hatching and not sure about the other yet.

I have 2 turkeys out they are not due until Thursday but I always have early hatchers the others are hatching still I think I have 5 or 6 out and looks like 6 more might hatch that incubator runs a little cooler but since the other one is broken I'll have to make due

I'm starting another hatch next week then and trading out a dozen+ for the January swap/Valentines day hatch. After that I'll separate the black hens under a different rooster to try to see what effect that has. It's going to be a fun spring!

karimw...... had 8 hatch , 8 made it to lock down & all 8 hatched

greyeyes.... had 3 hatch , 1 zipped and died in shell & another I had to help but it id not make it

As for my delayed hatch, six hatched yesterday, three more last night. 7 BOs, 2 BAs, according to the labeled eggs and those from eggs most closely resembling the labeled ones. All out of one incubator - no pips in the other two at all.
