No need for apologies Delisha, I didn't take offence, I was asking for answers in the hope that someone could have said feed them beer not water, this is so random.
We have everything crossed that the other 4 will make it at least through the awful cold weather and get some spring sunshine oin their backs.
As you have probably gathered we have a very small chicken operation here and I am seriously thinking of putting a heat bulb in their shed to keep them warm at night, my husband made it well insulated but it's really cold and depressing weather here I think they would appreciate some warmth. If things get really bad I may even bring them home and let them take over my greenhouse as that has an oil filled radiator in it.
I do sometimes wonder if I look after them too well, one of our neighbouring chicken keepers has about 35 hens and apart from collecting their eggs he totally ignores them and yet they live long lives.
