The price of fame...PB will pretend he doesn't know us if he sees us on the street!
Sadly true... but at least he will be able to afford a good therapist

And of course, welcome to the Peafowl section, this is the place to come if you have any questions regarding the care, feeding and medicating of Peas. You will get an answer quicker here than anyplace else.
Thank you so much! And to your second question,![]()
Yes, I am the aforementioned youngest.I had to go hide from Mom because I made an account on BYC without telling her and she found out when I posted that comment.
I have now promised her to only post stuff with her permission and review. She says it's okay for me to be on here because I have chickens. But unfortunately, we're too far away to have adopted Poop Baby.![]()

I also have some name suggestions for Chick #1. If it's a girl: 1. Lilac 2. Ariana 3. Glory 4. Tiara 5. Coral 6. Anemone 7. Tsunami. If it's a boy: 1. Fjord 2. Olympus 3. Zeus 4. Argos 5. Clay 6. Peril 7. Horizon. Hope you like them!
Sigh... yes. PB's sibling isn't the only precocious one. Once they have computers and internet access... sigh. Although it did take me a good half hour after I busted her on the posting to think to ask, "and BTW, where did you get an email account to register with?" I'm a little slowon this computer stuff.![]()
We are in New Mexico, much too far to have picked up Poop Baby (although we would have loved to have him), but it sounds like he is in a perfect spot. Having the guinea keets around will be good too, so he won't be so much physically bigger than everyone else and become too much of a bully.
There were free range (to the point of being feral) guineas in our neighborhood (at our house down south), and for a long time, there was a lone turkey hen that was part of the flock. That was funny to see. I hatched 30-40 eggs from them one year, but had to give them away when we moved. You just can't believe how many eggs the guinea hens will pile in a single hole... We'd find the nests in the alfalfa fields when they got mowed.![]()
Have been trying to restrain my own hatchaholic tendencies until I can get the pen situation straightened out here. Not a house/neighborhood conducive to having lots of critters, but sometimes we have to make do and bloom where we are planted...Anyway, no doubt I will succumb next spring... We had a couple fertile eggs (first year laying) from the lone peahen this year, but a badly timed power outage did them in, along with a couple internet eggs that were also developing well. Once you have the incubator, it's sooo hard to stop!![]()

Thanks so much for all the updates on PB -- we are all in love with the little guy![]()
Looks like we both have our hands full with precocious young-uns. At least its this forum which seems to be very secure, and you are here as well. The internet is a darn scary thing sometimes.
We have guineas as well only 3 of them and all turned out to be males so we don't have to worry about eggs there, which is fine with me, 3 are noisey enough. Sorry to hear about your power outage I just bought one of those adapter cables so I can run it off my car or lawn mower battery if that happens, we lost power for about 9 hours, but we were able to keep the bator running with a generator.
