First, we ordered 25 chicks from McMurray, never owned chickens... what where we thinking? They are 2 weeks old on Friday. We honestly thought we would lose a few, alas all 27 have survived! We started with two 90 qt rubber containers, then we moved them last Saturday to a 33 x 42 cabinet, today we moved them to a 4 x 5 space, never ever thought I would have chickens in my house let alone on my floor. Lots of plastic sheeting! The coop WILL be ready in 3 weeks. Please tell me that 4x5 will be big enough, or will I have to expand again? Once I can tell the roo's from the pullets I will either sell or give away so we are down to 20. What an adventure!
