Yep, I just received the eggs that I won from BYC auction today. Very lovely Blue Wheaten Ameraucana eggs. The eggs are a really nice shade of blue.

This is my 3rd go with shipped eggs and I am very excited to report that not a single egg was smashed or broken. No chips or cracks either.

The seller (bishopchicken) did a great job at packing so that the package was tight and the eggs could not bump each other. I thought his packing was clever too! He wrapped each egg individually with ......... toilet paper. That's right, toilet paper. And it was alot of toilet paper per each egg so that each egg had a really good padding around it. I would have never of thought of that. I think there was a 3rd of a roll of toilet paper per egg cus it sure seemed like an alot when unwrapping the eggs. I am not gonna give all his details away so if you want to know more you will have to ask him.

I was very pleased on the condition of the eggs so am bragging on his clever packing.

Dad asked if the toilet paper could be re-used but I kinda shredded it a bit so had just put it in the trash. He was like you could still recycle it. oops

The air cells appear to be where they should be so the eggs will go in the bator tomorrow morning. I am letting them settle tonight. The Brinsea is ready for them.

I am hoping for a good hatch as the last 2 groups of shipped eggs I bought had very poor hatch rates. 3rd time just has to be the charmer.

So now the fun part of waiting begins. .....

Congrats on the eggs!!

Let us know how it goes!!

I'll be setting eggs in a few days ( maybe tomorrow, depends when my shipment gets here ).

Cool, whatcha gonna be hatching?

Just put my future babies in the bator this morning before coming to work.
Guess while waiting I will check others hatchs here to distract from the wait.
GoGo Fuzzies....

Um, then I might be getting some Pure Olive Egger eggs from a friend, haven't heard back from him. I already bought and paid for a dozen Lavender Bantam Ameraucana eggs and a dozen B/B/S Ameraucana Bantam eggs, I think they shipped out yesterday, but can't get a in contact w/ the lady I bought them from. Then this coming Tuesday I have 6 White LF Ameraucana eggs coming. Then next month on 4/11 I have a dozen Lavender ( LF ) Ameraucana eggs coming, and I might be getting some other Ameraucana eggs from a lady, don't know for sure yet.

Then I'm on a waiting list for some Cochin ( Bantam ) eggs.

Then I have a friend that I recently met, she wanted some young hens and a rooster, but I can't spare any hens so if she wants chicks I'll be hatching some of my own eggs out for her.

Then I figure I'll be putting some of my Project Buff Orpington eggs in the 'bator to see if they're Pure or not...and most likely I'll hatch out some more of my eggs! lol

I'm thinking about setting some of my Button Quail eggs..but haven't decided yet. Plenty of room, but I hate staggered hatches!!

Sounds like you will have a very colorful bator and get some really adorable fuzzies.
And here I am fretting like a broody hen over just 9 eggs.

If you have an extra bator to use for the lock down phase then the staggered hatch should go easier.

Hope you get great hatches out of all of em.

I have a 1588 Hova-Bator, so far I'll be filling up 2 trays ( 14 eggs ) and one of the egg holders on the 3rd one, so I still have 3 1/2 trays left for eggs. The 6 WA are going in my Mini Advanced ( Brinsea ) and depending when I get my other eggs I'll decide from there. Once I get a litte more money, that I'm not spending on eggs or feed..or chicks then I'm going to get another hova-bator. Like a 1602 model or something..for my hatcher...or maybe even a LG...but I really hate those incubators!!
