4 1/2 week old chick having problems swallowing

I have a 4 1/2 week old polish crested chick who looks like she's having some sort of problem swallowing. She will stretch her head way high up and take a couple big swallows, even if she's not eating or drinking.

I did notice that the last couple of days she's been especially loud (except when I pick her up), and she's been somewhat sluggish (that could just be my worrying though too - she will come up to me when I go into the brooder)

Does anyone have any thoughts on what this might be? Should I be worried or am I just worrying too much?

It may not mean anything, just silly chickens.

Check her crop in the morning. It should feel full at the end of the day but not in the morning. The FAQ section here links several threads about crop problems, if you feel she might have one. (Go to index, then FAQ.)

Being loud except when you pick her up sounds like she sees you as Mama.
